Zumba Instructor

Black Belt in Karate

Meet Julia

Julia is from Illinois and is one of the youngest Zumba instructors in the USA! She comes from a karate family, becoming the third woman in her family to earn a black belt in karate, alongside her mother and grandmother. Most recently, she placed 3rd in Advanced Kumite (fighting) in the 2021 USA Karate Nationals and was selected to USA Karate Delegation for the 2022 International Maccabiah Games. During the COVID-19 lockdown, she combined Zumba Kids classes with STEM crafts and taught free classes online through her website JuliaZumba.org. For her efforts, Julia received the “City of Highland Park Community Hero Award: Serving Others During the COVID Pandemic”. Julia is also the Ambassador Coordinator for green light for girls, an international non-profit that encourages girls to get involved in STEM.

Outside of sports, Julia is a member of her school’s math team and plays the flute in the marching band.

We are so excited to have Julia on our team.

While she has accomplished so much already, we can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes in the years to come!
