Meet Michelle

Betos began playing soccer at age 5. In 2005, she was named an ENYSSA State Team player and participated in the Super Y-League Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Camp. She attended college at the University of Georgia and was named SEC All-Tournament Team. Betos played for many different teams after graduating from UGA including: The Atlanta Silverbacks, The New York Fury, Seattle Reign FC, and Portland Thorns FC. She also played overseas on Apollon Limassol, Sydney FC, and Vålerenga Fotball Damer. She is one of a handful of goalies to score a goal during a game.

I figured out early on that I could have pockets in my shorts and keep some Skittles in them, and that’s literally how I started playing goalie. I didn’t want to run and then I realized that I could just have some candy during the game.
