MH - Lucy has worked hard to achieve her dreams and is always humble about her accomplishments. She is also such a team player and displays that on and off the field. Lucy is always striving to be better, and she has motivated me to pursue my goals and aspirations.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE LUCY BRONZE IN ONE SENTENCE?
MH - Lucy Bronze''s talent and drive are incredible.
WHAT HAS LUCY BRONZE TAUGHT YOU ABOUT SPORTS, WORK ETHIC, PASSION, OR LIFE IN GENERAL?
MH - Lucy’s work ethic is like no other, and you can see her passion for the game on and off the field. She also cares deeply about the youth players and their development, and just overall helping people in need.
WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON LEVELING THE PLAYING FIELD FOR WOMEN IN SPORTS? WHAT CURRENTLY GIVES YOU HOPE, AND WHAT CHANGES DO YOU THINK STILL NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED?
MH - We have made huge strides in leveling the playing field for women in sports, but there is still so much that needs to be done. All of the people in the industry who are doing their part to advance women in sports constantly give me hope. One of my goals is to aid in these efforts, so hopefully one day I can make a change. Equal pay is obviously a huge issue that needs to be addressed, as well as better facilities and media coverage.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR OTHERS TO GET INVOLVED, BE INFORMED AND/OR START SUPPORTING WOMEN IN SPORTS?
MH - These women are so talented and deserve just as much support as the men. Getting involved and being informed are the basis for forming that support system that is so desperately needed. And once people get the word out and more people are exposed, they’ll realize how amazing all of these women are.
